Camborough F1

The Camborough Hybrid female is widely recognized as the industry's leading economic package, with over five decades of continuous improvement. This tried and tested maternal product stands out from its competitors due to its exceptional efficiency, which is driven by selective breeding for key traits. We offer a range of Camborough products, including high health and conventional health options, sourced from our internal genetic pyramid and selected contracted multipliers. Additionally, we supply GP (L03) females to support in-house multiplication programs, enabling contracted customers to breed their own gilts. Our maternal breeding program is designed to balance a range of traits, with a strong focus on efficient growth. This approach has been a key part of our breeding objectives for many years, resulting in gilts that reach first-service targets earlier than other genotypes. This, in turn, leads to a more economical gilt development phase and reduced maintenance nutrition requirements throughout the sow's life.
The Camborough's genetic contribution to her offspring is significant, with her positive traits influencing feed efficiency, daily gain, and carcass quality. This makes her a unique and valuable mother, with a genetic makeup that sets her apart from other commercial hybrids. While our competitors may focus on maximizing the number of total born pigs per litter, we believe that a more balanced breeding approach is essential for long-term profitability. Our Camborough may not excel in every trait, but when considering the number and quality of weaned pigs, as well as economic traits like feed utilization and sow mortality, she emerges as a clear winner. Our Camborough Efficiency Calculator shows that other genotypes would need to produce at least six more weaned pigs per year to match the Camborough's cost of production. This is due to the Camborough's exceptional feed efficiency, low sow mortality, great longevity, and shorter gilt development period.
